TikTok has unveiled its Global Year in Music 2025 list, showcasing the 20 songs that shaped user experiences worldwide through trends, challenges, and emotional storytelling moments.

The ranking highlights the platform’s expanding role in global music culture, with Afrobeats, Dancehall, and Caribbean-influenced sounds earning strong placement. Cross-cultural collaborations were a major feature this year, as tracks blending African and Caribbean elements performed especially well across regions.

One of the most unexpected outcomes was the song at the top of the list. Connie Francis’ 1962 classic Pretty Little Baby claimed the number one spot, underscoring TikTok’s ability to revive older songs and introduce them to new generations.

Among newer releases, Shake It To The Max (FLY) Remix by Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea stood out as one of the platform’s most influential tracks. Its fusion of Ghanaian and Jamaican sounds made it a favourite for dance content, placing it just outside the top ten. Chella’s My Darling also made the list, gaining global traction for its emotional pull and popularity in inspirational videos.

The 2025 results reinforce TikTok’s position as a major discovery tool, capable of boosting emerging artists, reviving classics, and pushing diverse global sounds into mainstream culture.
